Leeds United supporters rally around Mateusz Klich amid social media abuse

Leeds United supporters have rallied around Mateusz Klich on social media after he deleted his Twitter account.

The Whites promotion hero has been receiving a lot of criticism after his slow start to the season.

That criticism turned to abuse from some on Saturday evening after it was his foul on Antonio Rudiger that led to Jorginho’s 94th-minute winning penalty against Chelsea.

However, amongst the storm of negative tweets, plenty of Leeds fans have sent their messages of support to Klich which they are hoping will overpower the hate.

The 31-year-old will know himself that is yet to reach his powerful best this season but he is still key part of Marcelo Bielsa’s squad.

More than anyone else, Klich will be desperate to return to the level that he achieved in the two seasons prior to this one where he played a pivotal role in the promotion, and return, to the Premier League.

If, and when, he decides to reactivate his Twitter account, he will undoubtedly receive a stream of positive messages from Leeds fans who know his value to the squad.

Here are some of the tweets from the last 24 hours showing support for the towering midfielder.
