Leeds United suffer fresh injury blow as Gjanni Alioski forced off at Brentford

Leeds United's season has been beset by injuries and Marcelo Bielsa was left ruing another slice of bad luck in the opening exchanges of the trip to Brentford.

With Leeds' skipper Liam Cooper having just been recalled back into the side following a two-game lay-off, Gjanni Alioski was forced off after just 12 minutes at Griffin Park.

The North Macedonia international slipped while looking to challenge Ollie Watkins and went down clutching his left leg.

Alioski was quickly replaced by Stuart Dallas and immediately applied a hefty ice pack to his left calf on the bench after suffering what was described a a 'twisted knee'.

The 27-year-old has started every Championship game for Leeds this season, but will now be a doubt for Sunday's clash at home to in-form Aston Villa.

Leeds kicked off in West London having just seen Sheffield United move three points clear of them in second after they eased to a 3-0 win at Hull City.
