Leeds United starlet suffers injury setback after international appearance

Leeds United youngster Sam Greenwood has suffered an injury setback.

The former Arsenal starlet will be sidelined for up to four weeks with an ankle injury picked up during international duty.

Greenwood represented England at youth level during the international break but picked up an ankle injury which will leave him out for 3-4 weeks.

That's a blow for the club's under-23 setup with Greenwood in fine form for the young Whites.

Greenwood has scored four times in three games for the under-23s since his summer move from Arsenal for around £1.5million.

His form saw him win the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for September but he will now miss the rest of October with the injury.

Greenwood joined Leeds after two years at Arsenal following his 2018 move from Sunderland's youth setup.

The 18-year-old represented the Gunners' under-18s and under-23s last season, scoring six times in 22 appearances across all competitions, including two outings in the EFL Trophy.

But his future is now at Elland Road with Leeds United excited over the young striker's prospects.
