Patrick Bamford has revealed the taunts the Leeds United players had to endure in their 6-2 defeat at Manchester United.
After a 16-year-wait to meet the Whites' rivals in the Premier League once again, the excitement was gone inside a crazy opening three minutes that saw the hosts run out to a 2-0 lead.
Things didn't get much better for Marcelo Bielsa's side as the scoreline increased, Leeds returning back across the M62 with a chastening 6-2 loss on their record.
For the Leeds players it was a game to forget quickly, but now Bamford has revealed how the Manchester United players were enjoying the moment so much they couldn't hide their delight as they returned back to their own half after scoring, with laughing ringing out.
"After this recent game against United, I think that one of the big things, as soon as we went in that changing room after, on the pitch it was so annoying because we'd just been battered by the scoreline.
"When they scored the goal, they were running back and you could hear them laughing.
"Obviously without the crowd there you can hear the noises, so you can hear them laughing amongst themselves.
"Obviously all the boys were boiling inside, fuming. But it's one of those where there's no point getting sent off or doing something stupid as it's just going to ruin the next game."
The Leeds players will use that experience when the two meet at Elland Road in April, but first up is an opportunity to return to winning ways when hosting Burnley.
The Clarets come to Elland Road for the lunchtime kick-off on Sunday Decmeber 27, with Leeds then travelling to West Brom two days later for the final game of 2020.
