Leeds United star Patrick Bamford details his Premier League fantasy football team

Patrick Bamford has revealed which Leeds United teammates he would choose in his fantasy football team and also joked he was worried he had been priced out.

Speaking to the Premier League about their FPL fantasy football game, Bamford said he was worried he might fall out of favour due to his price going up after an eye-catching first season in the top division.

The striker, who made his debut for England this month, was priced at £5.5m last season, but has now gone up to £8m.

He laughed: “I guess it’s flattering but it does make it difficult. When you’re thinking, do I spend £12m on Lukaku and Ronaldo, then you generally need a striker who’s like £4.5m, £5m, a little bit cheaper, so it kind of prices me out a little bit.”

Bamford also revealed that a lot of players and staff play FPL at Leeds, explaining: “There’s quite a lot. I think the majority. There’s all the physio staff, medical staff and there’s probably about 10 or 11 players.”

He said that after problems picking teammates last season, this season they are not picking anyone from Leeds. However, asked if he had to choose, he suggested: “I’m not blowing my own trumpet, but I’d say me, Rapha, Stuart Dallas or Luke Ayling, one of them two.”

Due to the new rule he also cannot choose himself as captain, though he did last season.

“I remember there was one where I think I’d taken [Dominic] Calvert-Lewin off captain and put myself as captain and told the boys.

“Kalvin was laughing because they were in the early kick-off and Dom had scored two. But I think I got a goal and an assist so it worked out alright.”

Bamford also revealed his current FPL team: “In order to get Ronaldo in I took Fernandes out and put Torres in. So I’ve got Amartey, Shaw, Duffy, Salah, Mount, Torres, Greenwood, Ronaldo, Lukaku and Dennis.”
