Leeds United set to crash out of promotion spots as Nottingham Forest and West Brom finish top two

The latest Championship prediction has thrown up what looks a fascinating final table.

In bad news for Bristol City, Football Web Pages' prediction sees the Robins finish ninth, three points off the play-off places.

The Robins would be beaten to the top six by Cardiff City, who make it into the play-offs by the skin of their teeth ahead of Preston North End and Blackburn Rovers.

At the top of the table, an exciting finish appears to be in store with West Brom storming to the title with a predicted total of 97 points.

In second place is Nottingham Forest, who are predicted to finish a point ahead of third-placed Brentford.

Leeds United's poor form will supposedly see them crash out of the top two and finish fourth, level on points with Brentford, which would set up a play-off semi-final against Fulham.

At the other end of the table, Wigan Athletic, Luton Town and Barnsley are set for the drop.

Bristol City's predicted results analysed

The prediction works by analysing teams' current form and extrapolating it to predict results for the rest of the season by working out which result is the most likely to happen.

This offers a chance to dissect Bristol City's predicted results for the rest of the season and see if any notable ones are thrown up.

The Robins are tipped to beat Derby County this week, but then suffer back-to-back losses against Leeds United and West Brom.

Consecutive draws against Huddersfield Town, Fulham and Millwall are followed up with a defeat to Blackburn Rovers, which would be a fatal blow in their play-off chances.
