Leeds United set for 11th departure of the summer as another fringe player reportedly nears exit

This summer has seen a number of Leeds United's forgotten men move on from Elland Road and the club look set to remove another unwanted name from the wage bill.

Caleb Ekuban, Paudie O’Connor, Sam Dalby, Aapo Halme and Tyler Denton, all on the periphery of Marcelo Bielsa's squad, have all moved on to new employers this window.

With the Whites finally chopping down their loan legion, filled with players never to make the grade at Elland Road, reports have suggested another want-away could be set to leave this summer.

Hadi Sacko hasn’t featured under Bielsa and spent last season out on at Las Palmas and Turkish outfit Ankaragücü.

According to Turkish outlet Denizil Yeni Olay, Sacko could be set for a return to Turkey, with Super Lig newcomers Denizilspor.

Reports suggest that the 25-year-old is ‘almost certain’ to join the club this summer, after a breakthrough between the two clubs.

There had been suggestions earlier this summer that the move was in jeopardy, due to Leeds’ asking price, but now a compromise looks to have been agreed.

Former club Ankaragücü were also in the running for the winger, which prompted the West Yorkshire side’s hierarchy to raise their wanted fee, but now a deal with Denizilsport has been reached.

Sako enjoyed his best year at Elland Road under Garry Monk during the 2016/17 season as the club finished seventh, narrowly missing out on the play-offs.

Since, Sako has found himself frozen out, but the three goals he managed in 15 appearances for Ankaragücü have earned him the chance to resurrect his career.

The Mali international, twice capped by his country, was entering the final year of his deal at Leeds.
