Former Leeds United midfielder Adam Clayton has urged the Whites to stick with Patrick Bamford up front when they return to the Premier League this season.
The striker has been a regular fixture in Marcelo Bielsa’s Championship winning team this season and has netted 16 league goals in a memorable campaign.
Leeds will return to the Premier League for the first time in 16 years in a matter of weeks, with the Whites likely to add to their squad in order to give them the best chance possible of staying in the league.
Two names to be already linked with a move to Elland Road are veteran strikers Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani.
However, the Whites have been urged by Clayton to give Bamford another chance in the Premier League.
Been brilliant deserve promotion,” Clayton said when asked on his thoughts on Leeds.
“Hope the stick with @Patrick_Bamford in the prem if you get him chances he scores end of ....”
Bamford has previously played in the Premier League, scoring one goal in 27 appearances in the competition during spells at Crystal Palace, Norwich City and Middlesbrough.
However, the 26-year-old was never a regular starter for any of them clubs.
Earlier this week, the striker took to social media to react to questions over his ability to score goals in the league.
Quoting a tweet asking if he was good enough to be a starter for Leeds next season, the striker wrote: “And so it starts” with three sleeping emojis.
