Leeds United sent Junior Firpo message as Whites getting a steal from Barcelona

As Leeds United move closer to the capture of Barcelona left-back Junior Firpo, the Whites have been told they're getting a great addition and a bargain at that.

The 24-year-old Barca man emerged last week as Leeds' number one target after a summer that has seen a host of left-backs linked with the club.

While the deal is far from signed off just yet, hope and expectation are rising that it will get done. It's a signing that is already drawing some excitement and according to former Premier League player and now Sky Sports pundit Kevin Campbell, Leeds are getting a player who is great value and who can realise his full potential under Marcelo Bielsa.

Speaking to Football Insider Campbell said; "He is a very promising young player. I think he will be a great signing for Leeds.

"He is young and needs a run of games to realise his potential. Bielsa will give him an opportunity and I think he will take it with both hands.

"If it is to be around £15million, whether that is straight away or on a loan to buy, I think that is good value. I really think he will do well in the Premier League."

Leeds would be getting a player with plenty of La Liga experience, but one who is certainly yet to reach his full potential after having to play back-up to Jordi Alba.

A reported £15m fee has the potential to look a bargain price in the next few years.
