Leeds United's young starting XI for EFL Trophy clash at Accrington Stanley confirmed

Leeds United have named a very young side for their EFL Trophy clash against Accrington Stanley this evening.

Under-18s boss Mark Jackson takes charge of the Whites after their under-21s side was invited into the competition following the club's academy's promotion to category one status earlier this summer.

Jackson has drawn on his under-18s for the clash, which sees the Whites play in the competition for the first time in a decade.

Charlie Allen, the 16-year-old forward who signed from Linfield earlier this summer starts for Jackson's side, while the likes of Cooper Skerry, Owen Bray and Josh Galloway who featured in Leeds' FA Youth Cup defeat at Manchester United last season all start.

Competition rules mean that Leeds are permitted to play two overage players in the competition, but with the new Premier League season just four days away and with a host of players away on international duty, no senior players are on duty tonight.

Leeds United XI: Skerry, Galloway, Sutcliffe, Kachosa, Leverett, Moore, Mullen, Bray, Pilkington, Allen, Dean

Subs: Christy, Chikukwa, Carole, Hughes, Teale, Littlewood, Coleman
