Leeds United's Under-18s are poised to be backed by a following of almost 2,000 Whites supporters for their FA Youth Cup clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

After getting the better of Sheffield Wednesday in the last round, winning on penalties after a 2-2 draw, Leeds' youngsters will get the opportunity to grace the turf at the Theatre of Dreams, with 1,800 Leeds fans making the journey.

Manchester United's Under-18s, who have beaten Lincoln City and Norwich City so far in the competition, haven't won the FA Youth Cup since 2011.

The contest will be the first time that any Leeds team has made the trip to Old Trafford since the famous 1-0 FA Cup third-round victory in 2010, with Jermaine Beckford bagging the only goal of the game.

According to the MEN, Leeds were offered more tickets by the Red Devils but the Whites decided to cap the allocation at 1,800.

The fans who are making the trip over the Pennines will be housed in the usual away end, as they supporter the club's youngsters bidding to reach the quarter-finals of the competition.

It's the first time Manchester United have hosted a Youth Cup tie at Old Trafford since their 2-1 third round defeat to Southampton in December 2016.
