Paul Merson believes Leeds United will not have any issues attracting “quality players” if they are promoted to the Premier League.
The Whites are currently top of the Championship table - sitting three points clear of West Bromwich Albion in second-place - and eight points ahead of Brentford in third.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men are hot favourites to achieve promotion to the top-flight for the first time since being relegated in the 2003/04 season.
Merson, speaking on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday, believes that, unlike some clubs, Leeds will not have any problem in signing top class players.
“People will want to play for Leeds, it’s a big football club with great support. I don’t worry about them if they get up and try to get players to play for Leeds,” Merson said.
“Sometimes teams get up and you think, ‘Who’s going to go there? And, who’s going to go to that club?’. But I don’t see that with them.
“I think they’ll be able to bring in quality players. Hopefully they’ll be able to get them again next season.”
Leeds are next in Championship action this weekend as they travel to Blackburn Rovers.
