Leeds United's transfer strategy aided by shirt sponsor as first Premier League fixture 'leaked'

Here is your Leeds United morning digest on Monday, August 17.

Who Leeds could face on opening day

We’re now under a month until the Premier League season kicks off, and there appears to have been an accidental leak of the opening fixtures of the campaign.

The Fantasy Premier League has now gone live ahead of the upcoming season, and one fan on social media spotted a potential list of fixtures for the opening weekend.

If these leaks are legitimate, Leeds will host Newcastle United at Elland Road, for their first Premier League match in 16 years.

Leeds fan taunts Chelsea owner

A Leeds supporter has taunted Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich’s yacht in a video that appeared on social media.

Marcelo Bielsa’s team enjoyed a tremendous season in the Championship that ensured promotion back to the top-flight, where they will renew their rivalry with the Blues.

One Leeds supporter is clearly looking forward to rekindling one of English football’s biggest rivalries, as he taunted the Russian billionaire whilst on holiday.

The fan is seen holding up a Leeds towel up to the owner’s yacht, while signing Marching on Together.

Leeds chief outlines strategy that gives transfers the exposure they demand

Asia is right at the heart of Leeds’ global expansion as they prepare for life back in the Premier League, as Beren Cross of Leeds Live writes.

SBOTOP, a gambling firm, was announced as the Whites’ new shirt sponsor for the upcoming campaign.

Executive director Paul Bell has revealed how brand exposure and marketing opportunities could help Leeds secure more big-name signings, knowing that more eyes will be watching them.

Bell said to LUTV: “We can start to move forward now on a truly global basis. The Championship doesn’t get the eyeballs across the globe that the Premier League does. Therefore, to a certain degree, there’s a set of brands not interested in a more UK perspective.”
