Where Leeds United stand on striker Andrea Petagna after €15m reports in Italy

Andrea Petagna is the subject of a €15m bid from Leeds United according to reports in Italy, but the Whites’ current stance suggests that is wide of the mark.

The 24-year-old striker is currently plying his trade with SPAL in Serie A, where he spent 2018/19 on loan from Atalanta.

Petagna’s 16 league goals in 36 appearances kept the Ferrara outfit up, which then triggered his permanent transfer for around €12m this summer.

However, his form has attracted foreign suitors. In April, The Guardian reported Leicester City were keeping tabs on the Italy international.

Today, Tuttomercatoweb has reported a bid of €15m from Andrea Radrizzani to SPAL for the striker, with the Italians holding out for closer to €25m.

LeedsLive understands this report is not correct with a large sum already invested in Helder Costa from Wolverhampton Wanderers and financial regulations being closely watched.

Furthermore, as director of football Victor Orta told LeedsLive in Australia, the club’s business is 90 per cent complete.
