Here is your Leeds United morning digest for Sunday, September 27.
Tuen Koopmeiners transfer stance
Leeds United are not interested in signing Teun Koopmeiners from AZ Alkmaar, Leeds Live understands.
Marcelo Bielsa has admitted he would still like more than one new addition at Elland Road before the transfer windows close.
However, the Whites head coach would not be drawn on which positions he wants to fill. Interest in Rodrigo De Paul and Daniel James would suggest central midfielders and wingers are being assessed still.
Koopmeiners, Alkmaar’s 22-year-old captain, does play through the middle of the pitch, but may lack the creativity of a De Paul or a Pablo Hernandez.
Todd Cantwell targeted
Leeds United are eyeing a late swoop in the transfer market for Norwich City midfielder Todd Cantwell, according to Football Insider.
The 22-year-old caught the eye in the Premier League last season during the Canaries' ill-fated fight against relegation and he could be given a fresh opportunity in the top-flight.
Cantwell signed a new deal with Norwich last year but that agreement only runs until 2022, which means that he could be lured away from the club.
He has been a mainstay in Daniel Farke's side so far this season, featuring in the Championship matches against Brentford and Preston North End.
Chris Wilder lauds 'outstanding' Marcelo Bielsa
Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has heaped praise upon Leeds United counterpart Marcelo Bielsa ahead of the Yorkshire derby on Sunday afternoon.
The Whites lock horns with the Blades at Bramall Lane, the first top-flight meeting between the two sides since 1994, and the clash is fiercely anticipated following an electric start to the season from Bielsa's side.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Wilder said: "He is a character and he improves players and he plays his football in a way he wants to see football played. He is an outstanding figure in European and world football.
"He's managed some huge clubs in Europe and two national sides and now a huge club in English football."
