Leeds United's start to Premier League life has changed the minds of the bookmakers

It has already been something of a roller coaster ride for Leeds United following their return to the Premier League.

Marcelo Bielsa led Leeds to promotion from the Championship last season - ending the club's lengthy exile from the top flight.

For most newly-promoted clubs, the aim is to stay up, while pundits - and bookmakers - are often all to quick to tip them for an immediate return to the second tier.

Leeds got off to a promising start, giving champions Liverpool and runners-up Manchester City big scares, while beating Fulham, Sheffield United and Aston Villa.

However, successive 4-1 defeats to Leicester City and Crystal Palace have taken the shine off somewhat, leaving the Whites 15th in the table after eight games.

Leeds started the season a 500/1 long shot to win the title and while it remains highly unlikely, the odds have been cut to 200/1.

They are also now 25/1 to finish in the top four, down from 100/1, and 9/1 to make the top six, down from 33/1 before the campaign kicked off.

Meanwhile, the odds on Bielsa's men being relegated have lengthened from 7/2 to 12/1 based on what we have seen so far.

There are some other interesting odds out there. For instance, Leeds striker Patrick Bamford is 25/1 to be the Premier League's top scorer this season.

Bamford, who has seven goals to his name in the league so far, is also 18/1 to make England's 23-man squad for next summer's delayed European Championship finals.

Leeds and England midfielder Kalvin Phillips is 8/11 to get the nod from Gareth Southgate.

And the pair are both 66/1 to be named Premier League player of the year.
