Leeds United's stance on unpaid Robin Koch transfer fee claims

Leeds United expect a swift end to any complaints in Germany from Robin Koch’s former clubs over unpaid solidarity payments.

When the 24-year-old moved from SC Freiburg to Elland Road last August, a small percentage of the transfer fee was set to be divided between those clubs responsible for Koch’s early development.

FC Kaiserslautern, SV Dorbach and Eintracht Trier all remain out of pocket more than four months after the deal went through, according to reports in Germany.

The report says Kaiserslautern were due €130,000, Dorbach €32,000 and Trier €290,000, but felt they were left with little option, but to send a legal letter to Elland Road.

However, LeedsLive understands it was the Whites who made the clubs aware they were even due a slice of the transfer fee in the first place.

Any hold-up in the payments has been put down to administrative issues caused by the global pandemic and paperwork being held up.

The payment is not being contested by United, who expect all funds to be distributed properly in the coming days, if not today.
