Leeds United's stance on Teun Koopmeiners transfer from AZ Alkmaar revealed

Leeds United are not interested in signing Teun Koopmeiners from AZ Alkmaar, Leeds Live understands.

Marcelo Bielsa has admitted he would still like more than one new addition at Elland Road before the transfer windows close.

However, the Whites head coach would not be drawn on which positions he wants to fill. Interest in Rodrigo De Paul and Daniel James would suggest central midfielders and wingers are being assessed still.

Koopmeiners, Alkmaar’s 22-year-old captain, does play through the middle of the pitch, but may lack the creativity of a De Paul or a Pablo Hernandez.

Reports linked the Whites with the Dutch midfielder after the signing of Diego Llorente, but Elland Road sources have poured cold water on that link.

Koopmeiners has played for his country at all age groups between under-17 and under-21, while he was linked to AC Milan earlier this year.
