Leeds United's stance on latest EFL announcement

Postponement remains the key word in EFL’s latest statement on Leeds United and the Championship’s future schedule.

Predictably, the latest announcement confirmed football would of course not return immediately after April 30, the last postponement date given.

Crucially, the 2019/20 season has not been taken off the calendar and scrubbed from the books and as long as that remains the case the Whites will keep a watching brief.

Beyond the indefinite postponement of fixtures, the announcement did not change a great deal of what we already knew.

LeedsLive understands the club remains encouraged by today’s announcement and the direction the authorities are going in.

There has been little to dissuade United, thus far, everything possible will be done to see out the current campaign to its conclusion.
