Leeds United's Rodrigo details how working with Marcelo Bielsa helps him on and off the pitch

Leeds United forward Rodrigo says working under Marcelo Bielsa enriching him as a person as well as a footballer.

The Spain international became Leeds' record signing last summer when the Whites sealed a £27million move for the 29-year-old from Valencia.

Rodrigo has netted three times in 15 Premier League appearances so far this season and is statifeid with how Leeds United's return to the top flight has gone so far.

"I think at the moment we are doing a really good job in the Premier League with really good performances during this period," he told LUTV.

"Personally I'm very happy to join the club. Very happy with my teammates, very happy with the staff, with the training ground, with the city. Of course we are in his problem of Covid now, we cannot enjoy the atmosphere in the stadiums that for sure is one of the most important things in English football, but I feel really really happy and really excited."

Like may of Leeds' recent signings, the pull of working with Marcelo Bielsa has been a huge draw for Rodrigo.

"He's very good," he continued. "I think when you have the chance to work with a great professional, it's always good. I have the luck to be trained by incredible coaches in my career in the different clubs that I have had and in the national team also and for sure he is one of these great coaches that I've had in my career and I'm trying to learn the most from him and it's been a very good experience for me as a player and a person also."

Rodrigo also admitted that a desire for a new challenge inspired his decision to move to Elland Road.

"When I decided to come here I felt that I need a new challenge. Of course, to come to the Premier League excited me a lot because I think now we can say that it's the most competitive league in the world. Every game is a challenge, every team is hard to beat and I feel really happy to be here in this moment."

Rodrigo will be hoping to be involved when Leeds host Brighton on Saturday afternoon at Elland Road.
