Leeds United's Kiko Casilla to learn his fate over alleged racist abuse

Leeds United goalkeeper Kiko Casilla's personal hearing into his FA charge over allegations of racist abuse is set to be heard by the end of the week.

Casilla is accused of racially abusing Charlton's on-loan striker Jonathan Leko when the two sides met at the Valley on September 28, a game that saw the hosts run out 1-0 winners.

Following an investigation by the FA, the Spanish shot-stopper was charged on November 4 with using abusive and/or insulting words”, as well as making “reference to race and/or colour and/or ethnic origin”.

The keeper denies the allegations and requested a personal hearing.

Leeds United gathered statements from players and former team-mates as part of their appeal and the personal hearing was granted.

It is believed Casilla will go before an FA disciplinary panel by the end of this week and, if found guilty, he faces a minimum suspension of six matches.
