Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips is starting for England in their friendly match against Wales this evening.
Phillips - who made his Three Lions debut in last month’s goalless draw with Denmark - has earned his second cap for his country.
The 24-year-old has started every Premier League game for the Whites so far this season, and has continued last campaign’s strong form into the start of this term.
The central midfielder was initially called up to Gareth Southgate’s squad last month after playing a crucial role in Leeds’ title-winning season.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side finished the campaign on 93 points; 10 clear of West Bromwich Albion in second. Phillips was integral in that, solidifying the Whites’ central midfield area, whilst still being pivotal on the ball.
The match, which kicks off at 8pm at Wembley Stadium, will be preparation for England and Wales’ upcoming Nations League games.
The Three Lions face Belgium and Denmark, both at home, in the next six days - with Phillips looking to make an impression.
Phillips’ Leeds team-mate Tyler Roberts is starting for Wales, as the two colleagues go head-to-head in the capital.
