Leeds United's Jamie Shackleton opens up on the best player he’s ever faced

Jamie Shackleton has opened up on his toughest opponent, career high and best Leeds United moment in a new interview.

Speaking to the club’s official website, the Thorp Arch academy product revealed Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham is the best player he has ever faced.

The England striker has only ever faced Shackleton as an Aston Villa man in that famous Whites win at Villa Park in December 2018.

Shackleton said the major difficulty was in trying to mark Abraham during the 12 minutes the former was on the pitch for.

And on that match, it happens to include his favour Whites moment so far.

“Other than my debut, winning away at Aston Villa.  I came on for the last part of it when we’d got it back to 2-2,” he said.

“When I came on it felt right and we felt on top. We felt like a goal was coming and for it to happen right at the end, it’s as good as it gets really, especially at a ground like that.”
