Leeds United's confirmed team news as Marcelo Bielsa makes changes for Burnley clash

Marcelo Bielsa has made two changes to his Leeds United side for today's trip to Burnley.

Leeds cross the Pennines for today's early Premier League kick-off looking to maintain their excellent run of recent form which has seen them lose just one of their last seven matches.

Skipper Liam Cooper is available again after a gluteus injury, but takes a place on the bench, while Kalvin Phillps and Raphinha return to the side in place of Robin Koch and Tyler Roberts.

Illan Meslier starts in goal and is set to play behind a back-three, given Burnley's preference for a two-man strike force.

That means a back-line of Luke Ayling, Diego Llorente and Pascal Struijk with Gjanni Alioski and Stuart Dallas set to operate as wing-backs.

Phillips returns to the starting line-up in his usual defensive midfield position, with Mateusz Klich playing centrally and Jack Harrison and Raphinha, who also comes back to the XI, out wide.

Leading scorer Patrick Bamford again leads the line.

Helder Costa, Adam Forshaw and Joe Gelhardt were all ruled out through injury by Bielsa in his Thursday press conference, while Robin Koch, who has made the trip to Turf Moor, is also absent from the matchday squad.

Burnley have made just one change to their side, but it sees Bailey Peacock-Farrell replace Nick Pope in goal, as the Thorp Arch product gets set to face his old side for the first time since his 2019 departure.

Charlie Taylor and Chris Wood also start against their former side.

Leeds begin the day sitting tenth in the table and know that a win would close the gap on ninth-placed Arsenal, who have played a game more than Bielsa's men, to two points.

Burnley, who secured their Premier League status for another season earlier this week, sit five places and 11 points behind the Yorkshire side in the table.

Leeds United: Meslier, Ayling, Llorente, Struijk, Alioski, Phillips, Klich, Dallas, Harrison, Raphinha, Bamford

Burnley: Peacock-Farrell, Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor, McxNeil, Westwood, Cork, Brownhill, Wood, Vydra

Subs: Norris, Nartey, Dunne, Gudmundsson, Pieters, Richardson, Barnes, Rodriguez
