Leeds United's 'bargain' verdict after Wilfried Gnonto starts for Italy against Hungary

Leeds United's move for Wilfried Gnonto is now being dubbed a bargain by football fans despite not yet featuring for the Whites. The summer arrival has made six appearances for his country and will earn his first start since making the move to Elland Road.

He's only the third player to make three starts for Italy before his 19th birthday in post-war history. Former Manchester City boss and European Championship winner Roberto Mancini is a big fan of the striker and he'll start alongside Giacomo Raspadori against Hungary.

Whites' supporters are yet to see the new arrival in action in a first-team setting, but did get a run out for the Under-21s against Southampton U21s earlier this month.

Here's what fans had to say about Gnonto's start for Italy:

@Paul_LUFC_Mitch said: "So glad that Gnonto is starting for Italy so I can watch that instead of this. Let’s see what we’ve bought ourselves."

@StuartLeigh1 said: "Italy start 18 year old Gnonto he reminds of our star boy and is regarded very highly. Leeds paid £4m for him on deadline day. That already looks like a bargain."

@UnitedLeeds1 tweeted: "Gnonto starts that's the game I'm watching so."
