Leeds United rumours: Palace join Said Benrahma race, Villa to ramp up Ollie Watkins pursuit

It’s a busy summer for Leeds United as they prepare for their first season back in the Premier League.

The Whites are of course gearing up for their grand return after 14 years out of the top flight, and they’ve wasted no time in bolstering their squad in the transfer window.

They’ve so far made six new signings, and if the speculation is anything to go by, they are far from done this summer.

Here are the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming from Elland Road.

Palace join Benrahma race

Crystal Palace have reportedly joined the race for Said Benrahma, who is attracting plenty of interest this summer.

The Algerian looks set to be one of a number of Brentford players leaving the club this summer following the Bees' failure to land promotion to the Premier League.

Leeds are said to be one of the clubs interested, and according to The Athletic, Palace are now in the mix.

Palace’s interest comes amid reports the Whites believe they can land Benrahma for a reduced fee of around £12-15million.

Villa set to ‘ramp up’ Watkins approach

Aston Villa are set to 'ramp up' their pursuit of Brentford striker Ollie Watkins, according to reports in the midlands.

Watkins is another who looks set to be on the move from the Bees this summer, with Leeds among those linked.

But according to BirminghamLive, Villa are set for showdown talks with Brentford once the striker returns from his holiday on Monday.

The 24-year-old is reportedly being tracked by Dean Smith, who wants to sign him ahead of start of the new season.

Martinez reveals interest

Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has revealed 10 teams have shown an interest in him as he continues to weigh up his future in north London.

Leeds have been linked with a move for the Argentine, who has suggested he could look for a move after impressing towards the end of the season.

"I am in the sights of 10 teams in Europe. But I can't say who those clubs are, because it's nothing concrete," he told Marca.

"I still do not have the clear situation with Arsenal, when I have it when I return I will make the best decision for my career."
