Leeds United rumours: Foyth wants Spurs stay, Nico Gonzalez warning and Man City youngster eyed

There’s no shortage of players being linked with a move to Leeds United this summer as the club prepare for their return to the Premier League.

The Whites are of course back in the top flight for the first time in 16 years, and they’ll be aiming to establish themselves back among some of the country’s top teams.

That means Marcelo Bielsa is set for a big summer as he looks to bolster his squad ahead of the new season starting on September 12.

Here are the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming out of Elland Road.

Foyth wants Spurs stay

Juan Foyth is reportedly keen to stay at Tottenham Hotspur and fight for his place under Jose Mourinho.

The defender has struggled to make an impact in north London, having joined Spurs back in 2017 before making his debut that same year.

He was then left out of the squad for his side’s final fixture at Crystal Palace and speculation has been rife as to his future at the club.

The defender has been linked with a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer, with Leeds reported to be one of the clubs interested.

But according to The Athletic, Foyth is keen to stay at Spurs and fight for a place in the first-team.

Gonzalez warning

Stuttgart director Thomas Hitzlsperger has warned Leeds United that Nicolas Gonzalez will be ‘really expensive’ this summer.

The striker is in demand this summer, with a host of Serie A clubs interested after 14 goals in the German second tier last season helped his side to promotion back to the Bundesliga.

Yet the 24-year-old is said to favour a move to Elland Road, but Hitzlsperger has warned that he won’t be leaving on the cheap this summer.

“If we decide to sell him, then it has to be really expensive,” he said. “If you lose quality, then you have to adequately replace it.”

City youngster eyed

Leeds United are weighing up a move for promising Man City defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis as a transfer alternative to Ben White.

The Elland Road club are set to return with a fresh bid for White, who also has interest from Liverpool, after their latest bid was rejected.

But if their latest offer is once again rejected, then the Whites may move for Harwood-Bellis, according to the Daily Star.
