Leeds United risk becoming predictable as reoccurring problems prove costly

Here is your Leeds United morning digest on Sunday, December 13.

Talking points from West Ham loss

Leeds supporters witnessed a recurring problem on Friday evening as their side were beaten by West Ham United at Elland Road.

Despite going 1-0 up through a Mateusz Klich penalty, the Whites were pegged back and ended up losing 2-1 in Yorkshire.

Tomas Soucek towered over Stuart Dallas from a corner to equalise for the Hammers, with Angelo Ogbonna also heading in a set-piece for the visitors late on to take all three points.

Dead-ball deliveries are becoming a real issue for Marcelo Bielsa's side - who have now conceded seven goals from set-pieces in the previous 12 games.

Same routine growing old for Leeds

Leeds' unique pressing style was a breath of fresh air in the Premier League in the opening few weeks, but as Beren Cross writes, it is becoming a bit predictable from the side now.

The manner of the defeat to West Ham has started to raise a few red flags for the club's fanbase, as well as just one win from the last six games.

Bielsa has had many plaudits for the style he has implemented at Elland Road, but he knows as well as anyone that the praise starts to wear off and points are the only thing that really counts in the Premier League.

The supporters are beginning to see through the 'honeymoon period' that we saw in the early matches of the campaign - they just want points.

How the national media reacted to Leeds loss

After suffering back-to-back defeats, the national media have been reacting to Leeds' defeat against West Ham.

The Guardian wrote that Bielsa's team had 'obvious frailties', whilst BBC Sports reminded us that the Whites 'keep getting caught out'.

The Telegraph said: 'Struggle again' for Leeds, as their poor recent form continued on Friday evening.

The Whites are still in 14th-place in the Premier League table, but the run they've been on, going into perhaps the trickiest period of the season, is surely a concern for some supporters.
