Leeds United reportedly launch audacious bid for Julian Draxler as Rodrigo De Paul alternative

Leeds United fans have had a lot of moments this summer where they have likely had to pinch themselves to make sure they are not dreaming.

Today looks set to be another one of those moments, with the Whites linked with an audacious bid for PSG star Julian Draxler.

RMC, via Get Football News France, report that the Whites have approached the 26-year-old attacking midfielder over a potential move to Elland Road.

It could well mean that the Whites are looking at different options to Rodrigo De Paul after interest from Juventus in the Udinese star.

Leeds: 2020/21 season in preview

Yet Draxler has reportedly so far rejected any interest from Leeds.

That is not due to anything the Whites have done but due to the fact Draxler is keen to remain in Paris.

The 53-time German international has also turned down a number of approaches from the Bundesliga.

Despite having 12 months left on his deal at PSG, he is said to be settled in Paris and unwilling to leave the club before his contract ends.

There is still hope for the Whites should they opt to continue their pursuit of the former Schalke and Wolfsburg man.

That is due to the fact PSG sporting director Leonardo is keen to move Draxler on in this window in order to recoup some money for him.

L'Equipe have reported that PSG have made it clear to Draxler that they will not be renewing his contract and his game time is set to drop significantly this season.

That is while they prepare for an £89.1m drop in revenue to due matches being played behind closed doors.

By selling the likes of Draxler, it will raise funds for them to sign other targets.
