Leeds United release Jean-Kevin Augustin training pictures as he returns from injury

Jean-Kevin Augustin has been pictured training in Leeds United colours for the first time since the team returned to Thorp Arch.

The RB Leipzig loanee entered the hiatus with a troubling hamstring injury which had ruled him out of the Whites’ last three matches.

It looked increasingly unlikely the French striker would have time to recover, return to full match fitness and then supplant Patrick Bamford before the campaign ended.

However, the lockdown has given Augustin the time to recover from the injury and train ferociously before this week’s return to Thorp Arch.

Despite underwhelming in his three, brief substitute appearances, fans continue to clamour for the latest on Augustin given his track record on the continent.

Should United win promotion to the Premier League they will be obliged to pay the best part of £20m to sign Augustin permanently, provided he is happy to move too.

The Whites returned to Thorp Arch on Monday for their first organised training session since the season was paused in early March. Among those sighted have been Patrick Bamford, Luke Ayling, Stuart Dallas, Liam Cooper, Kiko Casilla, Kalvin Phillips, Ian Poveda, Barry Douglas, Mateusz Klich, Pablo Hernandez, Jack Harrison, Helder Costa and Tyler Roberts.
