Leeds United receive Ben White transfer update as defender's agent delivers cryptic message

Leeds United's hopes of luring Ben White to Elland Road on a permanent basis appear to have been given a decisive blow after his agent's comments.

The Whites are keen on signing White permanently from Brighton following his successful loan spell last season but the Seagull have made it clear they will not sell to Leeds.

Marcelo Bielsa's side have tested the water with a number of bids, which have been swiftly rejected, with Brighton's stance being they will not strengthen a rival - but a transfer could still be on the cards.

White has been touted with a move to a host of other Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester United, and Alex Levack advised fans to 'watch this space'.

"The latest is there are a lot of conversations happening," he told Sky Sports.

"Unfortunately for Leeds fans, Ben's just not going to be coming to Leeds. Brighton have categorically said there's no way they're going to sell to Leeds, so unfortunately that's the case

"There's conversations going on, Ben's away up in Scotland with the Brighton team for pre-season, getting himself fit, getting around the team.

"I would say watch this space over the next few days."
