Rodrigo De Paul, Michael Cuisance, Demarai Gray and Leeds United transfer questions answered

Leeds United remain in the transfer market for two players before Monday evening’s deadline after last night’s collapse.

The Whites are refusing to comment on speculation, but sources in Germany say Michael Cuisance’s proposed deal collapsed because of a disagreement on pay structure between the clubs.

By contrast, The Athletic reports Cuisance failed his medical with United and returned to Bayern Munich on Thursday night.

All of that means there is now less than three-and-a-half days for director of football Victor Orta to pick up a central midfielder and winger.

Crucially, head coach Marcelo Bielsa has previously said he would hope for a couple more additions, but the team would adapt if they did not happen.

The Argentine is not going to implode if those faces do not arrive, but Orta will do his damnedest to make them happen.

Rodrigo De Paul has inevitably been mentioned by fans since Cuisance’s collapse, while Daniel James and Ryan Kent are wingers the club admires.
