We are 33 days on from relegation, three days away from pre-season, 12 days from the next scheduled fixture and 37 days from the new season. However, the Whites are yet to see the back of Andrea Radrizzani, the official start of 49ers Enterprises’ tenure, the appointment of a head coach or the addition of any new players.

The paperwork is putting a strain on the timeframes the club has to work to this summer, publicly at least. Behind the scenes, there is confidence in the club’s position and the work being done in preparation for the big push.

Radrizzani’s name may be above the door, but Paraag Marathe, Angus Kinnear, Nick Hammond and the incoming board have not stopped putting their ducks in a row. Talks are ongoing with the existing squad about retaining the best talent and facilitating exits for others.
