While Jesse Marsch seems to be steadying the ship on the field, director of football Victor Orta is very busy off it. Like a bolt from the blue, Diego Llorente, less than six weeks after signing a new contract, is finalising a transfer to Roma.

That new deal has protected the Spain international's value and Leeds could now at least recoup the fee they paid Real Sociedad in 2020 for a defender, who has never settled at Elland Road. In the other direction, centre-back Diogo Monteiro is finalising his transfer from Servette.

Weston McKennie is also in West Yorkshire and awaiting the announcement of his loan from Juventus. Interest in Jack Harrison is only growing from here until tomorrow night's deadline.
