Leeds United prove again why late goals and comebacks would be the legacy of Premier League return

Leeds United’s late goals and comebacks will be the story of the season if they finally secure that long-awaited return to the Premier League in May.

Once again on Saturday that was the story from Elland Road. A late goal, late comeback and late points added to a tally which now sits the Whites in second.

Backs were firmly against the wall on Saturday, twice behind, one missed penalty, and yet still United came back to claim all three points in West Yorkshire.

Joe Mewis and Beren Cross pick through the main talking points in the aftermath of Saturday’s match from Elland Road’s West Stand in the video above.

Pablo Hernandez demanded the vast majority of the column inches written after the match, but there were other sub-plots which also required discussion.

Two weeks after listening to every South Yorkshire sympathiser talk about Sheffield United’s fate being in their own hands, the Whites now have that luxury.

There was also discussion around how the Blades may react, Bailey Peacock-Farrell’s return, Pontus Jansson’s substitution, Jack Clarke’s impact and how Patrick Bamford may fare when Kemar Roofe comes into contention next week.
