Leeds United promotion probability creeps up to 98% after data experts assess Stoke City thrashing

We are now well and truly into the business end of the Championship season, with just over two weeks until the campaign draws to a close.

Just four fixtures are remaining for each of the clubs in the division and there is still plenty to be decided at both ends of the table, as teams push to secure promotion to the Premier League and are desperate to avoid demotion to League One.

Number crunchers FiveThirtyEight have issued their verdict on how the season will finish, providing great news for the likes of Leeds United and Hull City.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side, seven points from promotion, are given a 98% chance of securing a rise to the Premier League next, while Hull City are 75% likely to avoid relegation.

West Brom and Brentford are next in line as favourites to seal promotion, while the situation looks bleak for Luton Town, Barnsley and Wigan Athletic at the opposite end of the standings.
