Leeds United poised to beat Nottingham Forest to striker target - report

Leeds United are set to beat Nottingham Forest to the loan signing of Che Adams, it has been reported.

Football Insider says Leeds are in pole position to land Adams on loan for the rest of the season with the player also understood to be on Forest's list of January targets.

However, media on the south coast say the Southampton player is going nowhere this month.

The Daily Echo insist Adams will stay given the lack of attacking options at Ralph Hasenhuttl's disposal.

The fact Adams played the 90 minutes of Saturday's FA Cup win against Huddersfield Town certainly suggests he will stay at the Premier League club.

Saints only have Shane Long, Michael Obafemi and Danny Ings  to play upfront.

Adams started the surprise 2-0 win at Chelsea on Boxing Day - his first start since September - but he is yet to score in 18 games since his £15m move from Birmingham City last summer.
