Leeds United 'plot loan move' for Tottenham Hotspur outcast Joe Rodon to solve defensive issues

Leeds United are plotting a move for out of favour Tottenham centre-back Joe Rodon, according to reports.

The Telegraph claims Marcelo Bielsa's side are among the chasing pack, trying to secure a loan move for the Welsh international.

However, the Whites will face competition from relegation rivals Newcastle United who are 'the front runners' to sign the defender on loan.

Bielsa's side have been ravaged by injuries so far this season and a short term fix in the heart of defence could be the answer.

The Whites do have four centre-backs already at the club, but Liam Cooper, Diego Llorente and Pascal Struijk were all absent from the starting XI in their defeat to Arsenal.

Leeds United are expected to be active in the January transfer window in order to secure Premier League survival and edge away from the drop zone.

Bielsa's side would be able to accommodate the arrival of Rodon on loan, as they currently have no players on loan at the club.
