Well-struck goal, but barely a consolation on a miserable afternoon. Coped better in the middle than at right-back.

The odd block which stopped further embarrassment, but one of many caught in the headlights.
6 Liam Cooper - four
Seeing another centre-back limp off with injury summed up the afternoon for the Whites. Did okay with his aerial duels at corners, but out of his depth in open play at times.
10 Ezgjan Alioski - three
Beaten again and again down his flank by both Marcus Rashford and Daniel James. Not a man with the composure to change the flow of the match either.
23 Kalvin Phillips - three
Hooked at the break after one of his most difficult halves under Marcelo Bielsa. Protection of the backline was non-existent.
18 Raphinha - five
Improved markedly to become the biggest threat in the second half, but his defensive inadequacies were fatally exposed in the first half.
43 Mateusz Klich - three
Another with an uncharacteristically poor half. Scott McTominay and Fred ran him ragged. The former's brace underlined that fact.

Heavy first touches, telegraphed passes and poor discipline in defence. An afternoon to forget when the Whites needed his ingenuity and quality more than ever.

Less exposed than his team-mates, but deliveries in the final third, when the team needed them, still weren't quite on point.

Too easy for Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof to bring the ball out from the back and barely asked any questions of his own in attack.
