A very respectable evening for the Spaniard, who claimed what he needed to and made several decent stops.
28 Gaetano Berardi - five
A very troubling, difficult evening for United's defence. The three centre-backs did not click together on the night. Berardi one of those who looked out of position several times on the night. A few strong tackles in the second period.
5 Ben White - five
Has generated far more positive reports when playing inside a four-at-the-back system. At fault for the first goal and a few other edgy clearances on the night too.
6 Liam Cooper © - five
Pulled out of position when following Cagliari attackers away from goal. Caught out of position a few times too.
19 Pablo Hernandez - five
Turned up with a goal, even if it was a penalty, as he always does, but off it all evening. Passes went astray and his touch let him down too. Could not exert any influence on the match.
23 Kalvin Phillips - six
Did his job without any fuss in front of the defence all night until his late, dubious red card, which left him bemused.
40 Leif Davis - seven
As ever, seems to stand out in this company when given the chance. Drew audible praise from Marcelo Bielsa more than once. Could see more game time than any of us expect next season.
4 Adam Forshaw - five
A passenger for periods. Does not have the cutting edge this team needs through the middle of the park at times.
43 Mateusz Klich - seven
Man of the match in the first half. Taken off shortly after the hour mark. No coincidence United's two best chances in the opening period fell to him. Guile and quality in the final third between the lines.
17 Helder Costa - six
A few flashes, but nothing like the terrorising his new fans will want to see on a weekly basis in the Championship.
9 Patrick Bamford - five
Runs and runs and runs to harry defenders, but the quality is missing around the box. Missed another couple of decent chances tonight.
