Leeds United player ratings from QPR defeat as the promotion pressure really hits

Leeds United (4-1-4-1)

13 Kiko Casilla - six

Blameless in the goal and, for all of Queens Park Rangers' threatening play in the first half, he didn't actually have a great deal to do. Virtually a spectator in the second period.

2 Luke Ayling - six

Kept Ebere Eze pretty quiet in all and offered a decent outlet on the overlap down the right wing throughout the game, not that it delivered any end product.

5 Ben White - six

Bailed out his team-mates on one or two occasions as the last man when QPR were countering through a broken field. Neither the occasion nor the opportunities for his Baresi magic.

6 Liam Cooper (c) - five

Rash and too hasty with a few of his challenges which left the team exposed. Struggled badly with the pace and trickery of Bright Osayi-Samuel, as everyone did, plus Nakhi Wells, who more than held his own.

15 Stuart Dallas - five

A reliable and trusty operator for so much of this season, even the Northern Ireland international's calmness failed to see him deal with Osayi-Samuel, who was constantly the home outlet.

23 Kalvin Phillips - four

Two days ago he predicted Eze would be the problem, but it was Ilias Chair and Luke Amos who kept his hands full. Always seemed to be sprinting to the next challenge, such was the threat. Late red card summed up the frustration of many connected to the club.

17 Helder Costa - six

Often the best outlet for the visitors, but so little quality in the final third which led to anything. Frustratingly shot from distance far too often after cutting inside.

19 Pablo Hernandez - six

Obviously the man trying the most to unlock the doors for the visitors, but rusty and under the cosh here.

43 Mateusz Klich - five

A spectator and sometimes unclear what his role on the pitch is meant to be. Never seemed to be in the position to influence the match.

22 Jack Harrison - five

Clattered a lot in the first half by the opposition. Had at least two decent chances at the back stick in the second half, but squandered both with dreadful headers. One of many looking low on confidence and energy.

9 Patrick Bamford - four

As has been the case too frequently this season, chances come and chances missed. The penalty miss, a gilt-edged chance to get back into a match, will not be forgiven by some fans for some time. There were others too, though. A back-post header in the second half was more a clearance than shot. The calls for a new striker will only grow louder.

Substitutes

1 Illan Meslier

10 Ezgjan Alioski (on for Dallas h/t) - five

Seemed less exposed than Dallas to Osayi-Samuel's trickery, but perhaps more because of his team's better play than his astute defensive skills. Still lacks composure and simple balance at times when delivering balls in the final third.

34 Pascal Struijk

38 Alfie McCalmont

46 Jamie Shackleton

48 Jordan Stevens (on for Klich 87min) - N/A

49 Oliver Casey
