Leeds United player ratings as Meslier and Harrison catch eye in Leicester City draw

Illan Meslier

The strong performance he needed after receiving heaps of criticism. Made a huge double save in the second half to deny Kelechi Iheanacho, but could do little about the equaliser. 7

Luke Ayling

Provided experience to the backline. Didn’t always use the ball well but made an improvement on his most recent run outs. 6

Robin Koch

Steady away at the back. Pulled this way and that at the back but acquitted relatively himself well. 6

Liam Cooper

Made a huge block early doors to deny the Foxes and looked a strong presence at the back for a majority of the night. Didn’t cover himself in glory in the build-up to Leicester. 7

Junior Firpo

Struggled to handle the overload down his flank at times as James Maddison regularly popped up on Leeds’ left. Let Maddison run off him for the goal, too. 6

Weston McKennie

A much better showing from the American in the middle and he looked particularly confident at the start of the second half. Influence waned as Leicester took control of the second half though. 6

Marc Roca

The midfielder appeared to struggle at times in the middle and while he did get stuck in he didn’t always make the right decision. 5

Jack Harrison

Looked bright on the ball and set up Leeds’ goal with a peach of a cross to the back post. Tried to make things happen every time he touched the ball. 7

Luis Sinisterra

Took his goal very well, nodding Harrison’s cross down and into the net. Had a couple of lively moments with the ball at his feet before being forced off the field through injury in the first half. 6

Rodrigo

Aggressive in his pressing, too aggressive at times, actually, and he was consequently booked. Extremely busy in the first half but spurned a great chance in the second. His energy and influence waned as the match wore on. 6

Patrick Bamford

Held the ball up well and looked to bring others into play. Chased absolutely everything but missed the chance of the night in the dying stages. 5

Crysencio Summerville (Sinisterra 32)

Lively throughout the night after replacing Sinisterra, without a lot of end product. 6

Brenden Aaronson (Rodrigo 68)

Could do little to prevent Leicester from taking control in the second half. 5

Subs not used: Joel Robles, Rasmus Kristensen, Pascal Struijk, Sam Greenwood, Adam Forshaw, Wilfried Gnonto, Georginio Rutter.
