Leeds United player ratings as Leicester City punish a sloppy defensive display in 4-1 thumping

Leeds United (4-1-4-1)

1 Illan Meslier - five

Hard to be too critical of Meslier for any of Leicester City's goals, but he looked jittery throughout that opening half. The French stopper's distribution was off and he invited some unnecessary pressure.

2 Luke Ayling - five

A few promising forays into the final third, but Ayling has to take his share of the blame for a poor first half which failed to deal with the attacking threat of Harvey Barnes or Jamie Vardy. Passes went awry.

5 Robin Koch - five

Would have been lower had he not atoned for the early error which allowed Vardy in behind to sculpt the opening goal. Deserves credit for improving and giving almost as good as he got with Vardy. Showed the pace he absolutely needed to at times, but still lots he could improve on. Could have done better with Vardy's assist for the second and should have been more alive to deal with Vardy on the third.

6 Liam Cooper (c) - five

Hated dealing with Vardy's pace and did not always make the best decisions on coming or sitting when balls came forward from Leicester.

Dallas's goal (Jon Super/PA Wire)

15 Stuart Dallas - six

Stroke of fortune to see his looping pass forward go all the way through to score. Difficult evening aside from that. Dennis Praet's movement tied him up in knots in the first half.

43 Mateusz Klich - five

Enjoyed himself more in the second half when Leicester retreated back and gave the Pole space in deep, but when the pressure was on in the first half there was no protection for the defenders. Klich was out of position plenty and there were costly errors thrown in too.

17 Helder Costa - six

Some threatening runs in behind the Leicester line and served up the early opportunity for Patrick Bamford to head at Kasper Schmeichel. However, not enough cutting edge when it came to it.

46 Jamie Shackleton - five

Never really in the game. Flitted in between things, but never in the thick of it.

Jamie Shackleton (Peter Powell/PA Wire)

19 Pablo Hernandez - six

Much, much more life from him in the second half, no more so than when he pinged a goal-of-the-season contender of the crossbar. Not enough guile from the playmaker in the first period though. Was very frustrated when he was hauled off.

22 Jack Harrison - six

Lively and some decent contributions in the final third, but one of many frustrated by a resolute Leicester defence.

9 Patrick Bamford - six

One excellent chance, one good chance and one half-chance, but Bamford could not finish any of them. Poor first touch really let him down on the best of them.

Substitutes

13 Kiko Casilla

7 Ian Poveda (on for Shackleton h/t) - six

Played his part as the half-time switch in the switch of momentum after the break. Pace and flair, but no real end product.

10 Ezgjan Alioski (on for Dallas 81min) - N/A

11 Tyler Roberts (on for Hernandez 67min) - five

No real say on the match once he was on.

21 Pascal Struijk

24 Leif Davis

49 Oliver Casey
