Leeds United player ratings as Mateusz Klich and Liam Cooper impress in frustrating Arsenal draw

Leeds United (4-1-4-1)

1 Illan Meslier - seven

Beaten by a devious cross-shot from Nicolas Pepe in the first half which glanced his crossbar, but apart from that the French stopper had little work to do. Excellent late stop to deny Bukayo Saka.

2 Luke Ayling - six

Much of the Arsenal danger seemed to be coming down his flank in the first half, but none of it paid in the end. Found himself very advanced at times in the second half. May have scored with his last touch of the game inside the six-yard box.

5 Robin Koch - seven

Quiet and effective which will be welcome given some of the errors we have seen at times from Koch. Arsenal offered too little to really upset him.

6 Liam Cooper (c) - eight

Like Koch, dealt with what was in front of him. Arsenal were turgid and did not trouble the Scotland international a huge deal. Superb in dealing with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's late counters.

10 Ezgjan Alioski - seven

Given the troubles we have seen him have at times, this was very good from Alioski. Made interceptions, read the game and all Pepe got out of him all afternoon was a red card. Dovetailed well with Jack Harrison in attack down the left.

23 Kalvin Phillips - six

Not a lot of work for the returning England international to get through. Could have offered a touch more protection during Arsenal's best spell of the first half. Looked rusty, naturally.

18 Raphinha - seven

A very welcome full debut for the Brazilian, who mixed heavy first touches and questionable tracking back with sublime cross-field passes and electric runs through the Arsenal rearguard. Plenty to work with and his potential is evident.

43 Mateusz Klich - eight

What more can you say? Seems to have everything needed for this system. The link-up man extraordinaire again. So good at carrying the ball, playing one-twos and getting himself out of tight situations with close control and flair.

Stuart Dallas (Michael Regan/Getty Images)

15 Stuart Dallas - seven

Not always at his most effective through the middle, but a good afternoon for Dallas. Forced a tremendous save from Bernd Leno with one strike bound for the top corner.

22 Jack Harrison - six

The odd flash, especially in the first half, but did not quite the breaks as some others did in the final third.

9 Patrick Bamford - six

Very quiet and another afternoon swamped by three centre-backs until a late header came back off the post.

Substitutes

13 Kiko Casilla

7 Ian Poveda (on for Harrison 80min) - N/A

11 Tyler Roberts

17 Helder Costa

20 Rodrigo (on for Ayling 70min) - seven

So much quality and intelligence in attack. Got pulses racing with two long-range shots in the space of five minutes which threatened to hit the top corner and then hit the crossbar. Just has the x-factor.

21 Pascal Struijk

24 Leif Davis
