Leeds United player ratings as Ipswich defeat sees Whites enter play-offs lacking momentum

Leeds United head into the Championship play-offs with next to no momentum after an embarrassing loss to relegated Ipswich Town on the final day of the regular season.

After another catalogue of missed chances inside the penalty box, the Whites were punished by the Tractor Boys, who recorded only their fifth win of the entire season here.

The 3-2 defeat did not impact the Whites' finishing position and they will now face Derby County next Saturday.

Leeds United (4-1-4-1)

33 Kiko Casilla - four

The modern invention of sweeper keepers will always come with pros and cons. Yes, it's nice having an 11th outfield player when required, but by heck does it get the heart racing unnecessarily. Hard to be too critical of either of the first two goals Casilla conceded, but he was especially keen to come out his box at Portman Road. Saw yellow for one sweeping challenge underneath Collin Quaner which could have been seen differently by some referees. Third goal was an embarrassing mix-up with Luke Ayling.

2 Luke Ayling - five

Excellent assist for Mateusz Klich's goal as he finally made the hosts pay for the space they kept giving him down the right flank. Alan Judge was kept quiet and the right-back did prove to be useful in attack throughout the game. Poor error for the third as he got in a mix-up with Casilla.

18 Pontus Jansson - five

Given the run around by Quaner. Did not get much help from his team-mates with a warning when he turned straight into the striker with the ball at his feet, nearly gifting the hosts a third. One of many you hope will be more switched on next Saturday.

6 Liam Cooper © - six

Often free with Quaner tying up Jansson, but a quiet game for the skipper. Couple of half-decent chances from close range off set-pieces.

15 Stuart Dallas - six

Following up when it mattered to get the equaliser from close range after Kemar Roofe had chested onto the bar. Did not look hugely secure at left-back and seemed somewhat tentative on his return from injury. A relief to get the rust out of his legs today ahead of next weekend.

23 Kalvin Phillips - seven

Assured again off the back of last week's return to action. Broke up attacks, put in crunching tackles and found his team-mates with diagonal arrows of accuracy from deep. The talisman we need in the play-offs.

19 Pablo Hernandez - six

Not at his mercurial best. Passes looked half-hearted and tentative, especially in the first half. Work rate was not there either. Second half improved, especially when he came inside and looked to pick up the ball in the right pockets. Very unhappy with Bartosz Bialkowski's reaction to Kemar Roofe's missed penalty.

4 Adam Forshaw - five

Not quite proving the answer in the final third when the Whites do look to penetrate through the lines. Loads of running, but that quality in tight spaces or when shooting is missing.

43 Mateusz Klich - six

Got the 'legitimate' goal he has waited so long for with a crisp, first-time finish to cap off his 100 per cent starting record in the Championship. Did not see a great deal else of him. Picked up decent positions here and there, but no real say on the game.

22 Jack Harrison - four

Another 90 minutes of going through the motions without having any say on the game.

7 Kemar Roofe - six

An afternoon of frustration was capped off by his slip for penalty. Saw very little other joy. Closely guarded around the box when the ball did come towards him. Inevitably has cobwebs he needs to blow away. If nothing else the 90 minutes will have done him good. Encouraging to see the chest onto the bar before Dallas's goal and, let's not forget, it was his dribbling which generated the penalty in the first place.

28 Gaetano Berardi

39 Ryan Edmondson

46 Jamie Shackleton

47 Jack Clarke (on for Forshaw 61min) - six

Had a gilt-edged opportunity from six yards out to score, but, under pressure from one defender, didn't quite find the composure to get the shot off he wanted. Looked better than he has done from the bench in recent weeks.

53 Robbie Gotts

58 Mateusz Bogusz
