13 Kiko Casilla - seven
Would not have expected to be as tested as he was against League Two opposition, but he was equal to everything. Needed him to be commanding around the area with so much more height in the Salford City side and he was. Punched and jumped for everything. Distribution solid. Looked bemused when Ben White chose to clear than risk him with the ball more than once in the first half.
28 Gaetano Berardi © - seven
Very few people can say they have been there when Gaetano Berardi scored a competitive goal in the flesh. Wild celebrations as he sliced home from a corner at the near post. A goal which satisfied the bench more than any other for one of the most respected members of the squad. Gave away a few fouls which clumsy challenges from behind in the first half which gave Salford unnecessary territory, but settled in the second half and never really looked in trouble. Excellent clearance off the line in the closing stages.
5 Ben White - eight
Once again the epitome of calm. Had the height to deal with Mani Dieseruvwe and the composure to calm the ball down and bring it out from the back. Unflappable.
40 Leif Davis - six
There's one thing Davis's admirable mental and physical attributes cannot make up for, and that's his height. Given a torrid time by the towering Dieseruvwe throughout the first half, though battled gainfully all the way. Enjoyed himself much more in the second period in a wider position after a formation change.
10 Ezgjan Alioski - seven
A big help for Davis on the left side. Drew the ire of the home support by staying down after contact more than once. Wasteful with the ball at times when he did enter the final third. Has the ideal, battling attitude for physical games like these against lower-league opposition.
23 Kalvin Phillips - seven
Steady and unspectacular in the middle. Kept the match ticking and did his job without any fuss. Hit the visitors first proper chance on goal with a long-range effort which needed a save.
47 Jack Clarke - six
Still not quite owning matches like this as he should. Puts his head down, dribbles and gets run off it. Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to see much better in the weeks ahead when his chances come.
46 Jamie Shackleton - seven
Just go and find his pass for the opening goal. Majestic. One of those who seemed to struggle without any space to breathe when the visitors were camping in the home half in the first period. Had more joy down the right flank in the second half. Again more than competed with men twice his size.
43 Mateusz Klich - seven
Largely anonymous in the first half. Emphatic counter and unerring finish for the third goal as the match ran away from the hosts.
17 Helder Costa - seven
Two assists from wide areas, but didn't see enough of him in other situations. Definitely allowed the robust challenges in the first half to get inside his head as he continually looked for protection from the officials.
14 Eddie Nketiah - eight
How many will follow his first goal of 2019/20? The very finish he was brought in to complete. A tap-in from three yards to end a wonderful move from United. Very lively throughout. Pace to burn and held the ball up well with his back to goal for someone with a slight figure. Patrick Bamford knows he's under threat.

Would have seen this is a major chance to stick another in the onion sack for confidence. Harried, chased and pressed the defenders, but got no reward.
