Adam Forshaw shines in dominant display against Nottingham Forest - Leeds United player ratings

Leeds United drew 1-1 with Nottingham Forest at Elland Road on Saturday despite dominating long periods of the match.

Pablo Hernandez, again, score the home side's goal, but after that unnecessary pressure was invited and the visitors equalised through a goalmouth scramble.

Here's how they rated individually.

Leeds United (4-1-4-1)

13 Kiko Casilla - six

A virtual spectator throughout the match as Nottingham Forest struggled to get near the home box, let alone test its occupant until the final 20 minutes. The Whites invited unneeded pressure as the match wore on and eventually Casilla was beaten with a goalmouth scramble. One may say he should have come and claimed the corner.

15 Stuart Dallas - six

As ever, steady endeavour. One heart-racing pass across his own penalty box which was short to Barry Douglas in the first 10 minutes. The dressing-down from risk-taker-in-chief Casilla said it all.

5 Ben White - seven

After his spectacular debut, this was a more low-key, but just as confident performance from the loanee. Steady and no drama - the perfect mix for a centre-back. Kept seasoned striker Lewis Grabban quiet.

6 Liam Cooper © - seven

Like White, steady and untroubled. Remained in control of his defence and its distribution up the pitch. Had a few decent attacking headers in the first half from corners.

3 Barry Douglas - six

Stayed at home more frequently than he did at Ashton Gate. Deserves some credit for making Joe Lolley virtually anonymous down Forest's right. Some more attacking in-roads down the left flank than six days ago too.

23 Kalvin Phillips - seven

When you watch him closely you see all of the subtle shoves and pushes he does to keep the opposition off the ball. Positioning immaculate throughout. Made his customary lunging tackle in the first half, which gave the referee a decision to make. May need to rein that in slightly moving forward. Passing spot on in building attacks too.

19 Pablo Hernandez - eight

Just when he's on for an average mark he pops up with another goal you cannot ignore. Steady by his standards until he read the pass and the high line to get in behind and break the deadlock.

43 Mateusz Klich - six

Seemed to be one pass away from the action throughout the match until his decisive pass in behind for Hernandez's opener. Not vintage Klich.

4 Adam Forshaw - eight

Best we have seen from the former Middlesbrough man in a while. Made his tackles, broke down attacks and made his own passes to get attacks moving forward for the hosts. Did a brilliant job in suppressing the lively Alfa Semedo, whose energy died away in the second period.

22 Jack Harrison - seven

More encouraging signs following on from Bristol City last Sunday. Still hoping for a little more on the end of his dribbles, but doing far more than he did last season.

9 Patrick Bamford - seven

May have had two or three on another day. Some of the usual frustrations in behind the defensive line through the first half an hour, but got his head and boots on more from then on. Work around the box was great in the second half, hitting the bar and missing by inches with a lob.

Substitutes

1 Illan Meslier

10 Ezgjan Alioski (on for Harrison 72min) - six

Came on with the Whites leading and just as the team began to let Forest back into the game, ending in the equaliser.

17 Helder Costa (on for Klich 80min) - N/A

The equaliser saw a stripped and ready Jamie Shackleton replaced in the technical area for the Portuguese to change the match. A few drives in off the right flank, but only into blind alleys and the turf.

28 Gaetano Berardi

44 Mateusz Bogusz

46 Jamie Shackleton

47 Jack Clarke
