Leeds United outcast set to seal Elland Road exit with loan move

Leeds United forward Rafa Mujica is closing in on a move to join Spanish side Real Oviedo on loan having arrived in Spain to complete a medical.

Spanish outlet AS states the Segunda Division side have identified the 21-year-old as an ideal recruit, with coach Jose Angel Ziganda previously admitting that he is looking to bring in two forwards ahead of the new season.

It's claimed he is set to move to the Spanish side on loan for the duration of the 2020/21 campaign, which is backed up by El Comercio.

Those reports add the young forward has already arrived in Oviedo and is waiting to complete his medical to complete his move.

Marca state the forward is the first choice target for Oviedo sporting director Francesc Arnau and he will be Oviedo's second addition of the transfer window so far.

Mujica joined Leeds on a free transfer last summer, signing a three-year deal at Elland Road, where he was initially part of the U23 side.

He joined Spanish second-tier side Extremadura UD on loan in 2019 but that deal was cut short in January, where he then joined Villarreal's B side.
