Birmingham Live report that Aston Villa are favourites to sign Gary Cahill this summer.

Cahill, 33, will leave Chelsea after a seven-year spell at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

He was linked with a return to Villa earlier this season but manager Dean Smith instead opted for cost effective alternatives in Axel Tuanzebe, Tyrone Mings and Kortney Hause.
