Leeds United may have lost to Chelsea in the Premier League on the weekend but the club have claimed a victory over them elsewhere.
Patrick Bamford’s early goal at Stamford Bridge had Marcelo Bielsa’s side eyeing a major scalp on Saturday before the hosts fought back to win 3-1 with goals from Olivier Giroud, Kurt Zouma and Christian Pulisic.
Frank Lampard’s side may be three points better off in the Premier League table, but Leeds have bested them in a much more important league table - one which settles the argument over who is the biggest club.
That’s right, you guessed it. Drum roll please. Leeds are, officially, the sixth-most discussed sports team on Twitter, one place above Chelsea.
Leeds have therefore broken the much-talked about ‘Big Six’, pushing Chelsea out into seventh place, with Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham making up the top five.

Newcastle, Aston Villa and Everton make up the rest of the top 10, but it is definitely newly-promoted Leeds’ position which has caused the biggest stir.
Until this season, Leeds and Chelsea had only played each other once in 16 years since the Whites were relegated in 2004, meaning on the pitch they have not beaten the Blues since a 2-0 victory way back on 28 December 2002.
Thankfully on the pitch prowess does not count for much on the real playing field of social media, where Leeds undoubtedly punch above their weight.
Only this week the official Leeds account was going viral, with Bielsa springing a surprise by naming his entire starting line-up against West Ham. You just don’t get that kind of content down south in the capital.
So remember, no matter what happens against West Ham tomorrow, Leeds are, categorically, a top-six side.
